We are delighted this year to celebrate our 40th anniversary as a trusted supplier of medical and cleanroom consumables and inline disc filters. Since our establishment in 1984, Helapet has delivered a diverse portfolio of sterile and non-sterile products, all designed to enhance safety and protection in several key markets including healthcare, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories and filtration.

Jul 2022 - Helapet appoint new Senior Leadership Team

Helapet are pleased to announce the new Helapet Senior Leadership Team, which will be steering the company forward.
Leading from the front, Tony Phelps has been appointed as Helapet's new Managing Director, following a successful 7 years as Helapet's Sales and Marketing Manager, and holding more than 30 years' experience in various medical device markets. Tony has played a key part in Helapet's successful growth during his tenure as Sales and Marketing Manager, even in the face of significant challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic. Tony holds an MSc in Biomedical Sciences and is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science.
Taking over from Tony as the new Sales and Marketing Manager is Hannah Hayward who brings with her over 7 years of B2B and direct clinician sales management experience in the medical devices market. With a track record in developing strong relationships within the NHS and private hospital groups, Hannah has a breadth of experience in overseeing vital projects and leading new initiatives.
2022 also sees Dean Marsh being promoted from Operations Manager to Operations Director and has now joined the Helapet Board. Dean has made a significant contribution to the company's operational success since joining Helapet 13 years ago. Dean is responsible for production, purchasing, warehousing and quality functions and works on key initiatives including lean and sustainability.
Amy Fleming provides Human Resource support to Helapet, having worked within the CliniMed Group of companies for five years. Amy began with CliniMed as an Assistant HR Advisor, where her hard work and commitment earned her a promotion to Human Resources Advisor in 2020. She is currently working to gain a master's degree in Human Resource Management.

Helapet has launched a new inline disc filter product and services brochure. This useful new brochure is designed to provide comprehensive information and insight into our custom inline filter manufacturing service, with all of our key variable elements, including cleanroom processing, packaging and sterilisation services. It is a handy reference guide providing quick and easy navigation across the customisable elements of our filters.
Our latest filter brochure has been designed in conjunction with our brand new interactive, online filter design tool, allowing you to share and add your own unique filter specifications to the filter design. This gives you the opportunity to effectively build your own filter which we can quickly and accurately quote and process for you.
The new filter brochure is available in both physical and digital formats, allowing you to select your filter housing sizes, media options and connector types in the way that best suits you. Jul 2021 - Helapet achieves Investors In People - Gold accreditation

May 2021 - Introducing our new 1L Sterile Sharps Bin range for compact disposal of standard and cytotoxic contaminated waste
Helapet's new 1 Litre Sterile Sharps Bin range is designed for stable, compact sharps disposal close to hand. This is particularly important in confined sterile environments including laminar flow cabinets and isolators.
Our new 1L Sterile Sharps Bins are supplied pre-cleaned and individually double or triple polybagged in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom. Each sharps bin is terminally gamma sterilised to 25kGy making them suitable for assured, swift aseptic transfer, saving valuable time and cost on cleaning and sterilisation within your own unit.

May 2021 - Safe, secure solution transfer is now possible with Helapet's Guarded Female Luer Lock connector
Helapet have just launched the Guarded Female Luer Lock Connector, a new product in their essential sterile transfer devices range.
The double female luer lock connector is designed to facilitate the secure, sterile transfer of solution between male luer lock syringes. Its large finger grips prevent touch of the luer connections whilst maintaining easy and efficient handling throughout the procedure. This reduces risk of accidental fluid contamination by user.

Helapet is excited to announce a new addition to our range of facial protective apparel. Our new Surgical Facemask is a Type 2 R facemask, designed to provide comprehensive nose and mouth protection during surgical and general medical procedures.
The facemask's liquid resistance provides a vital barrier against contaminated body fluid splashes from the patient and the risk of contamination from infected moisture droplets. The facemask boasts a high bacterial filter performance of more than 99% granting enhanced protection and exceeding EN14683 Type IIR standards.
Our Type 2R Surgical Facemasks are 100% latex-free, reducing the risk of reaction for those with latex allergies and furthermore is lint-free to reduce the risk of particulate contamination.in controlled environments.

Mar 2020 - Helapet Puts a Cap on Contamination: Integrity Closure of Pre-filled Syringes
Helapet PharmaPack® BD Luer Lock Syringes in combination with our select range of syringe endcaps are proven to deliver validated physical and microbiological integrity closure for the approved production of injectable medicines.
In compliance with recommended guidelines*, Helapet PharmaPack® BD Luer Lock Syringes demonstrate the secure and integral closure required for approved syringe preparations leaving pharmacy.
PharmaPack® is Helapet's brand of sterile multi-pack syringes, purpose designed, packaged and sterilised for efficient and cost-effective transfer of several syringes into cleanroom and isolator environments. Consisting predominantly of BD Plastipak® Luer Lock Syringes, each batch is securely contained within low-linting, sterile multi-bag packaging. Supporting stringent aseptic transfer procedures, PharmaPack® reduces the risk of cross contamination whilst reducing time, labour and expense.
Following the release of the 2013 Yellow Document on the Protocols for the Integrity Testing of Syringes*, it is necessary for Aseptic Pharmacy Units (APU's) to assess the integrity of the applied syringe/endcap combination when preparing injectable medicines. Using both microbiological and physical integrity testing, a comprehensive assessment of the luer-lock closure can be made and evidence used to approve the use of this syringe/endcap combination for the sterile preparation of patient medications.
Helapet conducted closure validations using 3 types of our syringe cap; our integral stop cap used with capped PharmaPack® syringes, the popular sterile Combi-Cap (#IV2102) and the Tamper-Evident IV Syringe Cap (#IV5750R). Our objective was to test and pass the strictest integrity evaluations when used in combination with BD PlastiPak® Luer Lock Syringes.
The results concluded that all Helapet syringe caps in combination with the PlastiPak® BD Luer Lock Syringes demonstrated the suitable durability required to pass both integrity tests, confirming that our syringe/endcap combinations deliver assured closure against potential physical leakages and external microbial contamination†. Helapet has been a respected supplier to the NHS for over 30 years and we continue to ensure that our portfolio of sterile single-use consumables continue to meet the high standards and requirements of today's healthcare professionals.

Aug 2019 - Clean it first with new SteriClean® Neutral Detergent
Helapet are delighted to introduce our new SteriClean® Neutral Detergent Spray. A sterile, PH neutral, non-ionic detergent with low residues, designed to work alongside our exclusive SteriClean® range of sterile alcohol disinfectants in critically controlled environments.
For a disinfectant to work effectively, it is beneficial to use a detergent spray beforehand. This will remove residues and soiling. For many, using a neutral detergent spray to clean surfaces prior to disinfection is an important step. This month, Helapet have unveiled a new sterile Neutral Detergent Spray which complements their exclusive SteriClean® range of sterile cleaning and disinfectant consumables.
A ready mixed pH neutral solution blended with WFI (water for injection), this excellent general purpose cleaning agent is highly effective at removing soiling without the risk of damaging acid or alkaline sensitive surfaces. Non-ionic with an excellent toxicology profile makes this product ideal for use on oily residue and sticky substances, without the need for additional garment protection.
SteriClean® Neutral Detergent spray is 0.2 micron filtered and cleanroom processed. Each 0.9L bottle is individually double-bagged and terminally irradiated for smooth cleanroom transfer and immediate use.
Compatible for use in high grade cleanroom areas, including isolators and work benches. Helapet sterile trigger sprays incorporate a validated closed bag-in-bottle system and non-vented trigger to restrict the ingress of bacteria to maintain sterility of the bottle contents. The lightweight and ergonomic bottle design includes a fully adjustable trigger nozzle allowing for the solution to be dispensed either as a jet or mist.

Jun 2018 - Helapet achieve next level with Investors in People - Silver accreditation
Helapet are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded Silver Investors in People accreditation. An international recognised standard that supports high business performance through the investment, management and support of its people, we are proud to dedicate this achievement to our amazing team and the terrific progress all have made in key areas of the Helapet business.
To achieve Silver standard Helapet needed to meet all set indicators at the Developed level and at least seven indicators at the Established level. Following the two day assessment, Helapet showed it was meeting all indicators at the required standard, with five at the Established level, two at the Advanced level and two indicators at the Developed level. By definition, the vast majority of company processes were seen to be "engaging, activating and creating positive outcomes".
Ben Miles (Managing Director) comments on this achievement: "Being awarded IIP Silver accreditation is a great achievement for us and a testament to the level of dedication and focus we place on our workforce. By adhering to our core values we have demonstrated what can be achieved by working together to create positive change"

Vaccines are transported in refrigerated containers to surgeries and local vaccine storage facilities where they are then stored in special vaccine fridges. Keeping the vaccines within the +2°C and +8°C temperature range throughout this process is 'maintaining the cold chain'. Having products too cold causes deterioration or too warm can render the vaccine inert. Vaccines need to be stored and managed correctly so that immunisations are carried out safely and efficiently reducing the risk of compromising the quality, efficacy and safety of the vaccine program.
Having a reliable system ensures that your products are not compromised when in transit. The VaccinePorter® range allows for a safe controlled transit of temperature sensitive products between +2°C and +8°C for up to 8 hours even with multiple openings. Validation documentation assures you that the controlled product will be safe in transit. Porters are available in various sizes allowing flexibility in vaccine transportation.
Each Porter comes with a lightweight fully replaceable polystyrene inner surrounded by a strong bag with secure Velcro fastening and a tamper evident facility. In order to maintain the validation for each Porter, regular visual and weight checks are to be carried out to the cool pack ensuring the weight and product is not compromised. The polystyrene inner will also need to be checked for and chips or damage. These signs could affect the validations and will need to be replaced before use.

Nov 2015 - SteriClean® FloWrap Impregnated Wipes
SteriClean® FloWrap wipes offer exceptional cleaning and sanitising performance for cleanrooms and isolators.
Aseptically impregnated with high performance Isopropyl alcohol IPA or Denatured Ethanol (IMS), Helapet FloWrap wipes are designed to be tough on contamination without leaving undesirable residues.
Each low linting wipe comprises of a tough, highly absorbent 68 gsm polyester/cellulose material, allowing quick and rapid disinfection of surfaces without the risk of shredding which could compromise the sterile environment.
Ready folded in 10 and 100 wipe multi-packs and individually accessed from the paper-free pouch, allowing staff to easily manage their usage.
Produced in an ISO Class 5 environment, each FloWrap pack is double bagged and gamma sterilised to no less than 25KgY supporting aseptic transfer into critically controlled environments. 'Peel and reseal' labels allow each pack to be sealed between wipes, avoiding the risk of unused wipes drying.
Users are left with only a thin piece of polythene to dispose of once the pack is fully used, ensuring less waste to dispose of and maintaining valuable work space. This makes Helapet FloWrap wipes an excellent option for confined environments such as isolators and an ideal alternative to bulky tub wipes.

Needle-free venting at its best.
Supporting GMP in compounding operations where exposure to potent drugs may occur, Helapet introduce our NEW range of single-use Vented Vial Adapters for stable, needle-free vial access.
Helapet's new Vented Vial Adapter range incorporates a 0.2µm bilateral air filter, allowing safe sterile venting of cytotoxics and other hazardous substances. Designed for high chemical resistance, the Vented Vial Adapter is evaluated against a selection of drugs known to adversely affect the performance of other polymeric devices.
Compatible with standard 13mm and 20mm vials each device utilises a non-coring plastic spike surrounded by a snap-on skirt to securely fasten onto vial tops, granting stable luer lock access to a syringe. An integrated grip allows easy handling whilst reducing contact with the luer connection.
The novel skirt design prevents the subsequent removal of the adapter from the vial, offering excellent security and reducing the risk of cross contamination.
With an increasing requirement for needle-free technologies within aseptic manufacturing and medical healthcare, Helapet are pleased to introduce the Vented Vial Adapter range, sterile and individually blister packed for clinical and cleanroom working operations.
